CSS Cause Map is designed to analyze a page locally. We do not operate an analytics service, collect browsing history, receive DOM content, or sell personal data.
What stays on your device
Live element measurements, matched selectors, ancestor evidence, observed mutation labels, saved reports, notebook notes, and your license token remain in the browser. A scrubbed report leaves the browser only when you explicitly export and share it.
Permissions
The Chrome extension asks for activeTab, scripting, storage, and side-panel permissions. It runs page analysis only after you invoke it on the active tab. It does not request access to every site in advance.
Exports
Exports do not include page text or HTML. URL query strings and fragments are removed. CSS selectors and stylesheet paths are retained by default because they are diagnostic evidence; you can anonymize selectors before export.
Licenses and payment
If you buy Field Kit, checkout is hosted by Sociobot and Dodo is merchant of record. Their systems process the information needed for payment. CSS Cause Map sends only the license token to Sociobot’s verification endpoint, at most once per day after unlock. We do not receive card details.
Network and retention
The extension makes no network requests unless you verify a Field Kit license. Local reports can be removed by clearing extension data or uninstalling the extension. The landing site uses no analytics or third-party runtime scripts.
